Ghostlaw, Julie. "Motivations Behind The Holocaust : German Nationalism And Economic
Growth." Mtholyoke.edu. Mount Holyoke College, 14 May 2008. Web. 01 May 2016.
In "Motivations Behind The Holocaust : German Nationalism And Economic Growth” Ghostlaw discusses German nationalism and it’s affect on why people were so willing to join the Nazi Party. It whittled down the feeling and pressure of anti-Semitism to three main points: Jews were wealthy while everyone else was struggling, they collectively refused to fight in WW1, and by supporting the hatred and the Nazi Party, you were supporting the country.
This source provides a background and understanding of the hatred and manipulation of Hitler and the Nazi Party. Unlike most of my other articles, it does not focus on the SS, but rather motives of most Germans on the daily. The explicatory tone makes it easy to read and understand and did not appear to be biased either way. Her sources were cited which makes it seem pretty reliable.

Jan. 2009. Web. 21 Apr. 2016.
In “The SS”, a full history of the Schutzstaffel is given. Starting with its founding in 1925 and its ending at the end of World War II, the article discusses the purposes, motives, and leaders of the SS and separates it up into different sections based on time which makes it easier to read.
This source provides a full history but in a way that is easy to read and understand. The wording makes it easy to understand and is very informative. The article gave a full history instead of focusing in on one aspect or person, which was different than some of my other articles. The source (History.com) is most definitely a reliable source and I feel very confident in the information I got.
J. Llewellyn et al, “Schutzstaffel – the SS”, Alpha History, April 27, 2016.
In “Schutzstaffel – the SS”, almost a full history was given, just like in the article from History.com. It started with the time it began in 1925, but did not discuss the SS all the way through the end of the war. At the end it summarized the top five key points, helping give a recap to everything.
This source provides almost a full history, but it is a bit more confusing to read. There are a lot of numbers and dates that are thrown around, making it a bit harder to follow. The information seems reliable and unbiased. It was a lot more information based.
Montesclaros, Mark. "Hitler's Warrior: The Life and Wars of SS Colonel Jochen Peiper."
Military Review July-Aug. 2015: 127+. General OneFile. Web. 21 Apr. 2016.
In "Hitler's Warrior: The Life and Wars of SS Colonel Jochen Peiper", the reader gets
look into the life of Jochen Peiper after the war. It focuses on his inability to adjust back to normal life and the struggles Peiper faces when it comes to finding a job and reconnecting with his kids.
This source was a summary and introduction to the book Hitler's Warrior: The Life and Wars of SS Colonel Jochen Peiper and because of this, it is a reliable source. It was fairly simple to read and gave a lot of insight to the effect the war had on the people involved and the PTSD it left most everyone with. It was different from some of my other sources because it focused in on one person and was a short summary and introduction to a book instead of being an article focused around the SS.
